Philippine National Red Cross 62nd Anniversary

The Philippine National Red Cross celebrated its 62nd Anniversary last April 15, 2009 at SM North EDSA’s Amphitheater.  It was the first time that the said venue was used for an event. The celebration starts with a Motorcade that started from the National Headquarters located at Bonifacio Drive. It travelled down to Bonifacio drive went straight to Roxas Blvd. ,then travelled the whole straight of EDSA and ended up to SM North EDSA. Key persons of PNRC joined the Motorcade like PNRC Chairman Senator Richard J. Gordon, PNRC Secretary General Corazon Alma De Leon, Service Managers, Chapter Administrators and Others.

While waiting for the Motorcade to arrive Governors, Chapter Administrators, Staffs and Volunteers from different chapter starts to come in to check on the booths that different Services prepared especially the ambulances that the chapters will acquire. The Amphitheater was full of people who are committed to serve Humanity through Red Cross. The Program started upon the arrival of the motorcade and it was highlighted with PNRC Chairman Senator Richard J. Gordon speech and also the issuance of the Ambulances to the recipient chapters. As Senator Gordon gave the keys to the chapter Administrator and Governors of the chapter the bliss of everyone was overwhelming. The said Ambulance would help the chapters mobilize their teams in case of emergencies. A Total of 42 Emergency Response Vehicles was given away to its chapters. The Red Cross Hymn which is the “Always First, Always Ready and Always There” and Life Power was sung by the Red Cross people which lead to the end of the ceremony. And after people roamed around to have their pictures taken on the ambulances and other stuffs that Red Cross prepared.
